Learning Pods was built because children deserve more than one way to learn.

What started as a response to families searching for better options has grown into a movement helping parents, educators, founders, and communities build more flexible, human, and responsive learning environments.

Founder Story

Hi, I'm Rachel.

I'm the founder of Learning Pods, and I'm a mom of four.

I didn't start Learning Pods because I wanted to build another education company. I started it because I believe every child deserves an education that fits who they are.

Our children aren't broken. Our teachers aren't broken. But in many cases, the systems they are trying to succeed inside simply were not designed to meet the needs of every child.

Learning Pods began in 2020, when the world was in upheaval and families were suddenly seeing education up close in a way many had never seen before.

We saw the gaps. We saw the stress. We saw what children needed more of. And we saw how many parents and educators were ready to imagine something different.

I started building Learning Pods with a newborn at home because I cared too much to just complain.

Since then, I have been surrounded by inspiring parents, educators, founders, builders, and community leaders who are choosing to be the change they want to see.

Learning Pods exists to support them.

Our Beliefs

What we stand for

Children are not broken

When a child struggles in a system, the first question should not be, "What is wrong with this child?" It should be, "What does this child need that they are not receiving?"

Teachers are not the problem

Many educators are doing everything they can inside systems that limit their time, flexibility, creativity, and ability to respond to individual needs.

Parents deserve choices

Families should be able to understand, access, and build options that fit their child.

Builders deserve support

The people creating learning pods, microschools, homeschool support programs, tutoring collectives, and enrichment models should not have to build alone.

The village matters

Children thrive when families, educators, founders, service providers, and communities work together.

Why Learning Pods Exists

We are bringing the village back to education.

Alternative education is growing, but too many people are still piecing it together alone.

Parents are searching.
Educators are reimagining their work.
Founders are building new models.
Vendors and partners want to help.

Learning Pods exists to bring those pieces together — not by forcing everyone into one model, but by helping people find, build, join, and support the learning environments that make sense for them.

The Four Pillars

How we support the movement

The Network

Helps people connect.

The Academy

Courses, templates, tools, mentorship, and practical support.

The Marketplace

Connects families and founders with vendors, curriculum, services, and professional support.

The Foundation

Works to expand access for families and communities facing barriers.

The future of education is being built by people who care enough to begin.

Whether you are here as a parent, educator, founder, service provider, funder, or partner, there is a place for you here.

There is no one-size-fits-all future of education. There are many children, many communities, many needs, and many ways to build something better.

Learning Pods exists to help you take your next step.
